The key difference lies in how long the nutrients are released and what factors influence that release.

  • Slow Release Fertilizer (SRF)
SRF consists of uncoated granules. Their longevity is affected by multiple external factors such as pH, microbial activity, water/rainfall, temperature, and soil type.
  • Controlled Release Fertilizer (CRF)
CRF uses a coated granule. The release rate is controlled by the coating and is influenced only by the temperature of the environment surrounding the granule

Getting started with a fertilization schedule can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. The easiest way is to begin with a simple structure and build from there.

Here’s how to get started:

  • 1. Identify your crop and goals
Every crop has different nutrient needs and growth stages. Knowing what you’re growing — and what results you want — sets the foundation.
  • 2. Consider your growing conditions
Climate, soil type, irrigation, and production system all influence how nutrients are taken up and how long fertilizers last.
  • 3. Choose the right fertilizer type
Controlled Release Fertilizers (CRF) offer predictable, temperature‑based release.
Slow Release Fertilizers (SRF) are influenced by pH, microbial activity, rainfall, and soil conditions.
Your choice depends on how much control and consistency you need.
  • 4. Start with a ready‑made plan
We offer a wide range of pre‑designed fertilization plans for many crops and situations. These are a great starting point and can be adjusted to your specific conditions.

If you’re still unsure, our team is happy to help you select or customize a schedule that fits your crop and environment
